Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Deadly Car Crash
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos stated on Wednesday evening. The athlete was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on Monday, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Healing from Light Wounds
The sports star had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, representatives had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.
“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.
A Tribute to the Fallen
Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two close friends.”
