The former president's Granddaughter Receives Expert Tips from Tiger Woods Before Professional Golf Debut
The rising star boasts substantial online presence
The young golfer will have numerous well-known backers when she makes her first LPGA appearance on Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is the granddaughter of a former US president, was granted a sponsor's invitation to participate at the Annika tournament in Florida.
Her grandfather, an avid golfer, owns several golf courses and regularly competes against Kai.
"He's pretty good. I can't say much but we have tight competitions," she stated.
Kai explained that her grandfather, unable to come, advised her: "Just stay calm."
"My grandpa essentially suggested to play and enjoy myself," she added.
"To me, he's simply a regular grandfather. He can't make it for the tournament. He's busy with world affairs, making him somewhat preoccupied."
While still amateur, the golfer has played in only three events in 2024 and maintains ranking 461 in AJGA listings.
Yet she can receive tips from Tiger Woods, who is dating her mother.
"He represents the best player in the world," Kai expressed.
"Additionally, he's a more impressive person. He told me to play, enjoy myself, and go with whatever happens."
She'll challenge several the biggest names in women's golf at the competition, such as second-ranked Nelly Korda, England's Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.
The LPGA stated that involving Kai helps introduce the sport to different demographics, particularly with the next generation.
Kai maintains millions of followers and recently launched a personal apparel and wellness label.
She begins at 5:30 PM GMT.
