Plane Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Due to Crack in Windshield
An aircraft transporting Pete Hegseth was required to make an emergency landing in the UK on Wednesday due to a fissure was discovered in the plane's windshield, per an official announcement which confirmed that Hegseth was safe.
"The plane landed in accordance with standard procedures and all passengers, including Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," a spokesperson said in a public statement.
He was traveling back from a quick journey to the city of Brussels during the flight.
This incident is not the first time that a American defense plane ferrying a top government figure has experienced technical problems.
In a previous incident this year, a United States Air Force aircraft carrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was required to head back to the US capital after encountering a mechanical problem.
