Barça to Host Historic Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday
Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host the Basque side in the Spanish league two and a half years since relocating for construction to commence.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans are permitted inside based on approved permits. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced completed upgrades featured a new players’ tunnel along with upgraded changing facilities.
Preparatory Events
Barça organized a public practice at the Camp Nou earlier this month. Officials stated they were hoping for permission by UEFA to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt in December at the stadium. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
