American-Palestinian Youth Liberated After Nine-Month Period in Israel's Imprisonment

An Palestinian-American teenager having endured 270 days in Israeli detention absent formal charges was released.

Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 during his detention in February throughout the West Bank territory, where he was visiting while residing in Florida under suspicion of rock throwing at Jewish settlers, claims he consistently denied.

The US state department said it welcomed Mohammed's liberation.

Currently aged sixteen, required hospitalization for treatment immediately after release, according to close relatives.

They said he is pale, underweight, and is suffering from conditions developed during imprisonment.

Via family representatives, Mohammed's uncle spoke of the family's "tremendous relief".

Family member Zeyad Kadur described how relatives endured "surviving a terrible, unending nightmare" during the entire detention period.

"At this moment, we are focused on ensuring Mohammed receives urgent medical care he requires after experiencing harsh conditions and cruel circumstances for months."

The state department said it would continue to extend consular services to the teenager's relatives.

{"American leadership has no higher priority to ensuring the safety of US citizens"," it added.

Several congressional representatives endorsed a document to diplomatic officials and the White House, requesting additional efforts to secure his release.

Mr Ibrahim, with four children managing a frozen treats business in Florida, had earlier stated his son only confessed regarding stone throwing after being assaulted by soldiers.

There were no visits or communicated with his son since the arrest, learning information solely what had happened to him through judicial records.

Mohammed was held without charge in Ofer prison on the West Bank.
